product description

This could be called the "one and only "Leyk" ceramic house.  It was an angular gable house which Ursula Leyk first built for her little daughter in 1982.  She created this with a rolling pin that she worked on earthenware slabs for later slip casting.

Then she cut out little windows as well as a door and lit a tea light candle inside the house to illuminate it.  Her two-year-old daughter was so excited about it that the brilliant idea to make more of them was born!  This little house is still available and even after 30 years one of our most popular gift ideas to start your "Leyk" collection.

First edition: 1983, revised edition: 1987

height/length/width about 12/7/8 cm (4.72/2.75/3.15)

This classic "Leyk" model represents everything the "Leyk" ceramic houses stand for: first class quality and hand craftsmanship "100% made in Germany".
