Mountain church 1c
"Droben stehet die Kapelle, schauet still ins Tal hinaus" this lyrics from a German folk song is what one might think of when looking at this "Leyk" model of a church. When it is illuminated by a tea light candle, you might feel like on a sunny day in the countryside, catching the sight of this church from a distance on a hilltop and you might warm towards it. First edition: 2002
height/length/width about 19/9/12 cm (inches: 7.48/3.54/4.72)
The replica of this church was the first model on which we have tried to illustrate flaking plaster. Having free scope to implement design ideas, our "Leyk" team always remains true to our unique style; as one can see in this little church's painted corner stones, or the little front building at the entrance. That is what "Leyk" demands from themselves, and what makes our ceramic manufacturing processes so unique and timeless. We have learned that even little kids are happy with our ceramics, when for example getting the houses as a gift from their grandparents. A few little trees and a pastor or wanderer from our miniature collection make this church complete.
